The New Ford EcoSport – Just keeps on getting better
The new Ford EcoSport went through a transformation and updating in its design, style and performance. Though you can’t find any significant facelift in its design, still the major update was done in its performance by replacing the sluggish engine with new one. To compete with its rivals, it claimed to lower the cost between 7 to 10 per cent lesser.
Exteriors
Glancing at its exterior, you can’t find much changes except a bit here and there changes. The grille is now moved slightly up on the surface of EcoSport with the logo of Ford placed in the center of the grille slat. The black matted grille with HID headlights looks impressive and sporty. The rounded fog lights are now removed with triangular size surrounded by black stripe. From its side, profile, you can notice that the Titanium Plus model is now with a 17-inch alloy wheel. The rear looks the same with no modification whatsoever. However, the small tweaks that have been made, make it look more premium with a sportier appeal.
Interiors
Moving to the interior, yes, certainly you can notice some changes in terms of color theme and features. The all new piano-black cabin mounted with an 8-inch infotainment system definitely enhance its esthetic. You can get a new instrument console as well with a black insert around it.
It has now with a more advance or updated version of 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or AppLink 3.0. You can connect your smartphone and access any app or data you need, apart from that, you can get a Voice-Activated Technology through which you can access anything you want just using your voice command.

The seats used to be comfortable but to make it more comfortable, the size in terms of width has been increased with a better softer cushioning. Similarly, the back seats now with a better comfortable cushioning added with a armrest and cup holder. Overall, the sitting experience is great and leave you with no complain. The space is well managed so that you can have a better body movement and thus it provides you with enough knee room, legroom and headroom.
The boot space has a storage of 346 L with additional space with the folded back row, which is the same as before, but you still can notice some changes here. The boot space is now with 3 position floors with the bottom most having the more space and the second one, as per the Ford, is to store your electronics gadget like laptop, and other valuable belongings. The third floor is the top lid that will fit over the two spaces. Not a significant change though, still somewhat useful in case of space management.
Performance
Talking about its performance, The New ford EcoSport is now with two engines of petrol and diesel variant. The 1.5 L Petrol Engine produces of 123 PS of power and 150 Nm of torque whereas the 1.5 L diesel variant produces 100 PS of power and 205 Nm of torque. One more significant addition in its transmission system in the petrol variant is a 6-speed AT. The mileage of the petrol variant is 17.0 Km/L (MT), 16.3 Km/L (MT), 14.8 Km/L (AT) and in diesel version, the mileage is 23.0 km/l (MT).
In terms of drivability, stability and handling, it performs great. The suspension will not let you feel the hiccup in the bumpers and rugged road.
